Boxing promoter Dibella Entertainment Inc. sued world-ranked boxer O’Shaquie Foster in the Southern District of New York for allegedly trying to improperly void his contract, saying the reason the agreed on number of bouts weren’t scheduled this past year was the pandemic.
Foster asserts the contract is void because Dibella didn’t schedule the required three bouts in the first 12 months of the contract.
But Foster accepted the terms of a tolling notice Dibella sent in a July 2020 email when he agreed to fight his third bout for Dibella on Sept. 19, 2020, the complaint alleges.
