Woman Indicted for Threatening to Kill Federal Judge in Texas

A woman has been indicted on charges of threatening to murder a federal judge in Texas, according to court records.

Alice Marie Pence allegedly called the judge’s chambers around March 12, 2023, and threatened to kill him, according to the newly unsealed indictment.

The charges do not name the judge but referred to a US district judge in Amarillo. Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk is the only federal trial judge who sits in that city, and earlier said he had received death threats over a case he was hearing that asked him to place restrictions on the abortion drug mifepristone.
