Vrdolyak Law Group LLC must defend against claims at trial that it violated federal and state laws by recording employees’ conversations and phone calls without their consent, a federal district court said.
A reasonable jury could conclude the law firm recorded the employees’ calls in a surreptitious manner within the meaning of the Illinois eavesdropping statute, Judge Georgia N. Alexakis of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois said in a May 1 opinion partially denying the law firm’s motion for summary judgment.
