Willkie Farr Co-Chair Placed On Leave in College Scandal (1)

Willkie Farr & Gallagher placed co-chair Gordon R. Caplan on leave over his alleged involvement in a college admission bribery scandal, the Big Law firm said on Wednesday.

In its first public comment since Caplan was named along with Hollywood actors, executives and others in a federal indictment, Willkie said in a statement that the matter was personal and didn’t involve the firm or its clients.

Caplan will have no further management responsibilities and chairmen, Steven Gartner and Thomas Cerabino, and the Executive Committee will continue to manage the firm, the statement said.
