Williams & Connolly’s Lisa Blatt and Sarah Harris in January will each argue their second cases before the US Supreme Court this term, making them outliers on diversity among attorneys appearing before the justices.
Women will have argued 19 times since October with most representing the solicitor general’s office on behalf of the US government.
Just two other women from private practice have argued this term, including Sullivan Cromwell’s Morgan Ratner and Abha Khanna of the Elias Law Group.
So far this term, 74 men will have argued before the Supreme Court, nearly half from firms.
