Which Cars Are Likely to Be Recalled? EVs Face High Projections

Last year Chrysler and Ford Motor Co issued more recalls than any other automotive brands, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The Motown manufacturers registered 72 and 67 recalls, respectively, in 2024 for such issues as potentially impaired brakes, compromised powertrains and faulty electronics systems on multiple vehicles across their portfolios. Tesla Inc., meanwhile, issued fewer total recalls but affected more vehicles with its errors. In January 2024, a single recall for an incorrect font size on the instrument panel affected more than 2.1 million Teslas.
