Jared DeMatteis has taken over the top legal job at WeWork Inc., a commercial real estate company that owns the popular co-working business of the same name.
The company, which called off plans for an initial public offering in late 2019, has elevated DeMatteis to replace Jennifer Berrent, who spent a half-dozen years as WeWork’s chief legal officer. A source briefed on the matter confirmed the succession and said a transition plan had been in place since last year.
