A West Virginia middle school student will ask the Fourth Circuit to strike down a state law barring transgender female athletes from participating on girls’ school sports teams.
The student, identified as B.P.J., will appeal the decision of the US District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia that the law, H.B. 3293, is constitutional, according to a notice filed Monday. B.P.J. seeks to participate on her school’s girls’ cross-country and track teams.
