Wells Fargo Told Fear of Covid Doesn’t Justify Delaying Trial

Wells Fargo Bank NA failed to convince a California appellate court Friday that Covid-19 health concerns justify putting off a trial that has been pending for nearly seven years.

The bank is one of several defendants in three consolidated class cases, in which Overland Direct Inc. alleges the companies defrauded it of multiple parcels of real estate. The first of these cases was filed in 2013, but due to “multiple procedural hurdles,” a trial date wasn’t set until March 20, 2020.
