‘War Dogs’ Libel Suit by Albanian Leader’s Son Fails

The son of the former prime minister of Albania lost his libel suit, after the Eleventh Circuit found he failed to show the author of the book that became the movie War Dogs, starring Jonah Hill, acted with malice when he tied him to an illegal arms scheme.

Author Guy Lawson was properly granted summary judgment in Shkelzen Berisha’s defamation suit because no reasonable jury would hold him liable on the evidence produced during discovery, said the opinion by Judge Diarmuid F. O’Scannlain, sitting by designation.
