A federal bankruptcy judge approved the Thomas Girardi estate’s hiring of an auctioneer to sell artwork and other items to help pay millions of dollars owed to the disgraced attorney’s creditors.
U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Barry Russell in Los Angeles on Tuesday granted trustee Jason M. Rund’s motion to dispose of “a Steinway piano, furniture, art, religious icons, statues, lamps, rugs, ceramics and glassware, clothing and shoes, and sports memorabilia” from Girardi’s Pasadena, Calif., home.
