Maryland’s top court will be renamed the “Supreme Court of Maryland” after voters approved a constitutional amendment included on the ballot Tuesday.
The state’s court of last resort is currently known as the Maryland Court of Appeals. As a result of the amendment, members of the court will be known as justices rather than judges.
The change leaves New York as the last state that doesn’t refer to its top court as the supreme court.
