Virginia Church’s ‘First Lady’ Loses Wire Fraud Appeal

The former first lady of Virginia’s Victorious Life Church couldn’t convince the Fourth Circuit Monday that it should set aside a jury’s verdict of wire fraud, money laundering, and conspiracy related to her late husband’s management of tithes and donations.

Brenda Millender’s convictions on those charges must be reinstated because the government produced sufficient evidence of her knowledge of how tithes to the church were being handled, Judge Diana G. Motz said for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
