Venezuela’s Maduro Adds Ex-Reagan Era DOJ Lawyer to Legal Team

Ousted Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro added Bruce Fein, a former top Justice Department lawyer during the Reagan administration, to his legal team, according to a court filing Tuesday.

Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, pleaded not guilty on Monday to narco-terrorism and weapons charges during a brief appearance before a federal judge in Manhattan. Maduro told US District Judge Alvin Hellerstein that he is a “decent man” who was “kidnapped” from his home in Caracas and is still the president of Venezuela.
