Valeo Loses Challenge to Antidumping Duties on Aluminum Sheets

Valeo North America Inc.‘s aluminum sheets imported from China are subject to antidumping and countervailing duties, a federal court said Tuesday affirming an agency ruling.

Judge Kara F. Stoll for the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit rejected Valeo’s arguments that its sheets didn’t fall within the scope of the orders because they aren’t registered with the Aluminum Association and are heat treated.

At issue was a decision by the US Department of Commerce that applied the duty to Valeo’s T-series aluminum sheets. It said, among other things, that sheets are within the scope of the order ...
