Utilities Take Power Line Land Exchange Halt to Appeals Court

Two Midwest electric utilities asked the Seventh Circuit to review a lower court’s order halting a federal land exchange needed to complete a major transmission line that would connect dozens of renewable energy projects to the grid.

Two of the transmission project’s co-owner utilities—ITC Midwest and Dairyland Power Cooperative—also filed a motion to stay on April 1 with the US District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin asking for the land exchange to be completed.
