US Supreme Court Denies Challenge to Product Safety Agency

The US Supreme Court won’t intercede in another separation of powers dispute seeking to rein in the role of federal agencies.

Justice Neil Gorsuch on Monday denied an emergency request by Leachco, Inc. to halt an enforcement proceeding brought by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) after its infant lounger was linked to at least two deaths.

The Oklahoma company asked the justices to halt the action while it challenged the commission’s structure in federal court.
