US Supreme Court Declines Case Over Jury Right in State Matters

The US Supreme Court on Tuesday denied review in an appeal asking whether the Seventh Amendment right to a jury trial in civil cases ought to extend to the states.

Justice Neil M. Gorsuch issued a statement regarding the court’s denial, saying that though he agreed with the court’s decision here, he doesn’t doubt that the court’s 1916 decision in Minneapolis & St. Louis R. Co. v. Bombolis “warrants a second look.”
