Administrative employees of the federal judiciary are allowed to engage in political activities outside of work following a court ruling that found limitations put in place during the Trump administration were unconstitutional.
The Administrative Office of the US Courts said in a memo this week that most administrative staff can engage in political activity at the federal, state, and local level as long as it’s off the clock and they don’t affiliate themselves with the judiciary.
Members of the AO executive management are still prohibited from political activity.
