US Gets Tariffs on $320 Billion Worth of Chinese Goods Upheld

The US lawfully imposed tariffs on $320 billion worth of Chinese imports in response to Beijing’s actions that were found to burden commerce during the first Trump administration, a federal appeals court ruled Thursday.

The Office of the US Trade Representative acted within the bounds of the Trade Act of 1974 when it escalated its tariffs, Judge Todd M. Hughes said, rejecting a challenge by US importers of Chinese goods.
