University of Nebraska Says Sex Assault, Harassment Claims Fail

A federal trial court should dismiss claims by nine current and former University of Nebraska students alleging the school’s Board of Regents was deliberately indifferent to their claims of sexual assault or sexual harassment, because they rely on “unsupported conclusions,” the board said.

Three of the plaintiffs, including lead plaintiff Sheridan Thomas, fail to state which actions of the board show deliberate indifference, and admit they weren’t subjected to further harassment after they made their initial reports, the board told the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska Thursday.
