The Underdog Fantasy app is an unlicensed sports betting platform that dupes its users into thinking they aren’t gambling, a proposed class action filed in federal court says.
The app from Underdog Sports LLC is financially backed by Mark Cuban, the billionaire owner of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, and NBA star Kevin Durant’s venture capital firm Thirty Five Ventures. It started in 2020 and is currently trying to get established in the sports-betting world, with plans to launch licensed sportsbooks in Colorado and Ohio.
