U.K. Attorney’s Invasion of Privacy Claim Revived in California

A London attorney at the center of investigations into discrimination and racism towards Black and minority solicitors in the U.K. can proceed with a claim that his privacy was invaded as part of retaliation for his role in publicizing the allegations, a California appeals court ruled Thursday.

After attorney Shahrokh Mireskandari publicly disclosed to a member of Parliament problems that Black and minority solicitors experienced at the hands of the Legal Society of England and Wales, and the Solicitors Regulatory Authority, an internal review was commenced regarding the allegedly discriminatory and racist practices.
