UC San Francisco Beats Retaliation Claims by Ex-Diversity Chief

The University of California at San Francisco defeated claims levied by its former diversity director who said he was fired for complaining about how an internal restructuring negatively impacted women and minorities, according to a state appeals court ruling.

The former employee needed to show the university’s misconduct-related reason for firing him was a pretext, or had no basis, the California Court of Appeal, First District said Wednesday in an unpublished ruling. He failed to do so.
