Uber Pushes for $2 Million in Legal Fees From San Francisco DA

San Francisco’s District Attorney should pay more than $2 million in attorney fees to Uber Technologies Inc. for unreasonable claims that the ride-hailing platform violated a $25 million settlement dating back to 2016, the company told a state judge Wednesday.

Uber agreed to a stipulated judgment and an injunction as part of settlement negotiations for a lawsuit filed in 2014, in which the state challenged driver background checks and representations about safety, rides provided to and from California airports, and Uber’s alleged violation of a law requiring permission from the state Department of Food and Agriculture to conduct measurements for ...
