Uber, Lyft Lose Bid to Toss Massachusetts Driver Status Suit (1)

The Massachusetts attorney general’s lawsuit accusing Uber Technologies Inc. and Lyft Inc. of misclassifying its drivers can move forward, despite a request from the ridehailing giants to dismiss the case, a state court judge ruled Thursday.

State Attorney General Maura Healey alleged last year that the companies should be forced to treat their workers as employees entitled to wage-hour and paid leave protections.
