U.S. Likely to File More Charges in Chicken Price-Fixing Probe

The U.S. Justice Department’s outgoing antitrust chief said additional criminal charges likely will be filed in the government’s investigation of alleged price-fixing by chicken producers.

“I would expect more charges in chicken,” Makan Delrahim, the head of the antitrust division, said in an interview.

The Justice Department investigation has so far led to charges against Pilgrim’s Pride Corp., the second-biggest American chicken producer, and two former chief executive officers of the company.
