Trump’s Plan for ‘American Heroes’ Statue Garden Sparks Lawsuit

The Trump administration’s plan for a sculpture garden in Washington doesn’t adhere to federal requirements, a new federal lawsuit alleged.

The National Parks Conservation Association said the Trump administration’s proposed “National Garden of American Heroes” in Washington’s West Potomac Park violates historic preservation and commemoration requirements for the District, according to a complaint filed Monday in the US District Court for the District of Columbia.

The proposed 250 statues intended to rise at least eight feet tall alongside various recreational complexes would interfere with existing open spaces and recreational fields, the complaint said.
