Trump’s Pick For Top Miami Prosecutor First to Advance in Senate

The Senate Judiciary Committee advanced President Donald Trump’s pick to be Miami’s top prosecutor, marking the first US attorney nominee of his second term to be sent to the Senate floor.

The panel voted 12-9 on Thursday in favor of Jason Reding Quiñones to lead the US attorney’s office for the Southern District of Florida in Miami, teeing him up to be confirmed in the Republican-controlled chamber.
