Trump Takes Executive Power Test to Texas in Federal Union Fight

The Trump administration is going to Texas, a favorite venue of conservative court fights, as it looks to get collective bargaining agreements with federal unions thrown out.

The lawsuit seeking the nullification of the Biden-era deals was filed in a Western District of Texas division where US District Judge Alan Albright, a President Donald Trump appointee, is the sole judge. Any ruling he makes would be reviewed by the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, a conservative court to which Trump appointed six of its 17 active members.
