The Senate confirmed Alabama Solicitor General Edmund LaCour to a district judgeship after his first nomination to a trial court seat in the state stalled during President Donald Trump’s first term.
The Republican-led chamber confirmed LaCour on Wednesday to the US District Court for the Northern District of Alabama on a party-line vote, 51-47.
Trump nominated LaCour to the Middle District of Alabama in 2020 but he was blocked by then-Sen. Doug Jones (D-Ala.).
