Trump-Appointed Judges Appear to Side with Federal Execution Bid (1)

President Donald Trump’s quest to resume federal executions was scrutinized in a federal appeals court in Washington on Wednesday.

Two Trump-appointees on the three-judge panel lobbed tough questions at the lawyer arguing against the government’s lethal injection protocol for federal death row prisoners, while the Clinton-appointee was the most critical of the government’s position.

Though it’s unclear exactly how the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit will rule in the dispute that raises a morass of technical issues, what’s more certain is that whichever side loses will quickly appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.
