TripAdvisor Nevada Relocation Ruling Set for Swift Appeal (1)

TripAdvisor Inc. corporate leaders got a green light from Delaware’s top court Tuesday to quickly appeal a ruling that tentatively allowed shareholders to seek damages over the company’s move to Nevada.

The state supreme court granted a bid by TripAdvisor controlling stockholder Greg Maffei for an interlocutory, or mid-case, appeal. The decision by a lower court judge—who authorized the reincorporation but said stockholders may be able to collect damages—applied a novel legal framework that’s worthy of immediate review, Justice Karen L. Valihura said.
