A Connecticut American Indian tribe will get another chance to litigate claims that the Department of Interior dragged its feet handling its casino project.
The Mashantucket Pequot Tribe and Connecticut may present their claims that MGM Resorts Global Development LLC used its political influence to delay the project, hoping to forestall competition for its casino in Massachusetts.
The plaintiffs sufficiently alleged that “significant political pressure was brought to bear” by U.S. Senator Dean Heller and Congressman Mark Amodei, both of Nevada, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia said Feb. 15.
