Four former high school athletes lost their appeal challenging a Connecticut policy that allows transgender students to participate in organized sports consistent with their gender identity.
The cisgender female athletes failed to establish injury, or that they’re entitled to seek monetary damages, the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit said Friday.
Chelsea Mitchell, Ashley Nicoletti, Alanna Smith, and Selina Soule were all Connecticut high school track athletes when they filed their complaint alleging the Connecticut Association of Schools, Inc.'s policy violated Title IX in 2020.
