That Didn’t Take Long. Border Wall Lawsuits Filed

California sued to block President Trump from diverting funds from the federal budget to pay for his promised border wall, joined by more than a dozen states who say the move exceeds the power of his office.

• California Leads: The complaint filed in the Northern District of California last night alleges that Trump’s emergency declaration exceeds executive authority, and would “illegally and unconstitutionally divert federal funds appropriated by Congress for other purposes,” California officials said in a statement.
