Texas asked a federal court on Tuesday to order the US Department of Homeland Security and US Citizenship and Immigration Services to turn over the immigration status of 450,000 potential voters in the state.
The suit comes during a time when Republican state officials say they are moving to clear up voter rolls and signal their concerns over the potential impact of immigrant voting in upcoming elections.
