Texas Library Appeals Order to Reshelve ‘Caste,’ Other Books

A Texas public library system has appealed a court order directing it to put 17 books back into general circulation and not pull any more titles while a constitutional challenge by some patrons proceeds.

Leila Green Little and other Llano County Library patrons sued library and county officials in 2022. They alleged that the books—many of which concerned LGBTQ+ or racism-related issues—were unlawfully pulled from the shelves because of disagreement with their viewpoint or content.
