Texas Death Row Innocence Case Denied High Court Review

The U.S. Supreme Court declined to review the case of a Texas death row prisoner who claims he’s innocent and is backed by a growing chorus of high profile supporters ranging from law enforcement officials to Kim Kardashian.

Though the top criminal court in Texas granted Rodney Reed a stay of execution in November and sent his case back to a lower state court for further review, the justices’ rejection of this separate appeal removes a barrier to the state executing the possibly innocent man if he loses that state case.
