Texas, Alaska Want Baltimore Climate Suit Sent to Federal Court

Indiana, Texas, Alaska, several other states, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce are urging the Fourth Circuit to prevent a Maryland state court from resolving Baltimore’s climate change lawsuit.

The city’s lawsuit seeks to make BP PLC, Chevron Corp., and other energy giants pay for local costs associated with climate change. The city argues it has suffered injuries including a rise in sea level along Maryland’s coast and an increase in storms, droughts, and heatwaves.
