Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is under investigation for alleged ethical violations relating to lawsuits he filed contesting the results of the 2020 presidential election.
The Texas Board of Disciplinary Appeals notified Kevin Moran, a Texan who filed a grievance against Paxton in December, that his grievance “alleges a possible violation” of two Texas legal ethics rules.
The appeals board’s May 27 letter said it would return the case to the Office of the Chief Disciplinary Counsel for investigation of Paxton’s conduct. The counsel’s office rejected Moran’s petition in January, and he appealed.
