Williams & Connolly Chair Dane Butswinkas will join automotive and energy company Tesla as general counsel, replacing Todd Maron, the company announced Dec. 6.
Butswinkas’s move comes at a tumultuous time for Tesla, which agreed to settle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in September after being investigated for securities fraud centered around founder and CEO Elon Musk’s tweets.
“Dane is a valued and respected partner,” Williams & Connolly partner Robert R. Barnett told Bloomberg Law.
