Tennessee has amended an age-verification law for websites offering pornography that was blocked on First Amendment grounds, attorneys for the state told a federal appeals court.
The new version of the Protect Tennessee Minors Act addresses the lower court’s concerns and brings the law closer to the Texas age-verification statute that is currently under review at the US Supreme Court in Free Speech Coalition Inc. v. Paxton, Tennessee said in a status report filed May 9 in the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
