Teamsters Can Picket at Amazon Air Hub, Federal Judge Says

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters may picket near an Amazon.com Inc. air cargo facility in Kentucky without interference from local officials, a federal judge ruled.

The Kenton County Airport Board, which governs the Amazon hub at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, didn’t offer a compelling reason for restricting workers’ free speech rights, the US District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky said Wednesday, overturning the board’s rejection of a demonstration request from the union.

The court granted an injunction preventing the airport board from interfering with Teamsters demonstrations, saying the union is “likely to succeed” in its complaint.
