Supreme Court Turns Down Suit Over Anti-Abortion Facebook Rant

The U.S. Supreme Court declined Monday to revive First Amendment claims brought against the University of New Mexico by a former medical student who was disciplined for a profane anti-abortion Facebook rant in which he referred to Democrats as “Moloch worshiping.”

The justices won’t review a ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit rejecting the lawsuit by Paul Hunt, who was backed in both courts by a coalition of free speech advocates.

In the online post, written shortly after the 2012 election, Hunt called Obama voters “sick, disgusting people” who support “genocide against the unborn” ...
