Supreme Court to Hear Arguments Nov. 5 in Trump Tariffs Dispute

Sept. 18, 2025, 3:29 PM UTC

The US Supreme Court will hear arguments Nov. 5 in a case testing the legality of the bulk of President Donald Trump’s tariffs.

The justices rearranged their arguments schedule that week to hear the dispute, which will carry enormous implications over the Trump administration’s economic and foreign policy agendas.

The Supreme Court Sept. 9 agreed to hear the case on an expedited basis, after multiple lower courts ruled Trump overstepped his authority when he cited US trade deficits and drug trafficking at the border as economic and national security threats justifying sweeping tariffs.
