The Supreme Court agreed to review whether attempted federal robbery counts as a “crime of violence,” granting review of an appeal from the Justice Department on an issue that has divided the circuit courts.
In agreeing on Friday to hear the case next term, the justices will attempt to settle the circuit split on the issue that the government said in its petition directly affects many federal prosecutions.
