Supreme Court Leaves Missouri Gun-Rights Law on Hold for Now

The US Supreme Court refused to resurrect a Missouri law that would nullify a number of federal gun laws and regulations.

The justices on Friday declined to block a lower court ruling that said the Missouri law violates the Constitution’s supremacy clause, which gives federal law precedence over state statutes. The Biden administration is challenging the measure.

Justice Clarence Thomas said he would have let the law go back into effect while the legal fight continues. The Supreme Court as a whole gave no explanation.
