DOJ Urges Supreme Court to Block New California Voting Map (2)

The Trump administration and the California Republican Party asked the US Supreme Court to block the state from using its new congressional map that favors Democrats during this year’s midterm election.

Thursday’s emergency request comes about a week after a lower court said the new map is lawful and can be used in 2026, rejecting a bid by the administration and the California GOP to block the map on the grounds that it was racially gerrymandered.
