Another gun rights group has asked the US Supreme Court to block an Illinois ban on assault weapons.
In an emergency application directed to Justice Amy Coney Barrett on Tuesday, Law-Abiding Gun Owners of Macon County and two of its leaders argued it’s unconstitutional both under the Second Amendment and the equal protection clause to ban some gun owners, but not others, from owning assault weapons.
